Application Process

Streetlight

The next term we will open Streetlight applications will be for Summer 2022.  Beginning March 2022, we will update our website with more information on how to apply.

Before applying, please read all of the requirements below to ensure program eligibility.

  • Standing Requirements for Streetlight Volunteer Applicants
    • Must be a UF undergraduate that will be a Sophomore or Junior for the current applying semester
    • Must be able to serve with Streetlight for two years as an active UF student volunteer (Must be graduating in or after 2 years after starting Streetlight involvement)
      • Of note: We will not be accepting applicants enrolled in UF’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program as the clinical rotations are not conducive with the Streetlight scheduling requirements
      • Additionally, we will not accept applicants enrolled in any graduate-level degree programs.
    • Completed Streetlight Application
    • A letter of recommendation (preferably from a health care professional, Streetlight member, or volunteer coordinator). Please have your reference e-mail their letter of recommendation to streetlightapplication@gmail.com .
    • Proof of completion of COVID vaccine series
    • Applicants may only apply up to two times to be considered for a volunteer position in the program.
      • Applicants can only interview once to be considered for the Streetlight program. Subsequent applications will not be considered.

If accepted to Streetlight, we would schedule you based on your availability on one weekly Visitation or Lounge shift.

Fall/Spring Schedule

Visitation Teams

  • Monday through Thursday  3pm-6pm.
  • Friday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Lounge Teams

  • Monday through Thursday 5:30pm-8:45pm.

Summer C Schedule

Visitation Teams

  • Friday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Lounge Teams

  • Monday through Thursday 5:30pm-8:45pm.
